Australia has some of the finest beaches in the world and some of the most popular are found in the state of sunny Queensland. This region draws holidaymakers from both within Australia as well as from distant nations and a thriving tourist industry has ensured the establishment of hundreds of stunning beach resorts. Some of these are located on the islands offshore by the Great Barrier Reef, whilst others grace the mainland coast. In the tropical far north, verdant rainforest interiors are divided from the blue ocean and coral reefs by scalloped coves of long white sandy beaches.

Port Douglas and Cairns are found in this popular part of the state. Beach resort destinations, however, are found all along the Queensland coast.
